Hi there, Jack here once more!
I hope you’re sitting somewhere cozy with a warm drink, because today I want to get a little philosophical with you.
Here’s a question for you: Have you ever thought about living forever? I know it sounds a bit crazy, but stick with me.
We all know our time here is limited. Someday, each of us has to say goodbye. None of us know when that will be. It could be today, tomorrow, or years from now. But the truth is, it’s coming for all of us. And maybe that’s why the thought of living forever is so enticing.
Here’s the wild part: I think there is a way to live forever—or at least, to keep a part of ourselves alive after we’re gone. Maybe it sounds impossible, but hear me out. I believe there are 2 ways to reach for a kind of immortality:
Create something that will outlast you. Create something like a Horcrux (but without the dark magic of course 😀), a piece of your essence can live on through what you create. Think about the artists, authors, and thinkers whose work still moves us, even though they’re long gone. Like a fragment of their soul, their creations keep them alive in our hearts and minds. Physically, you may not live forever, but spiritually, through your art, you just might. That’s a kind of immortality, isn’t it?
Leave a legacy through your children. I know it sounds simple, but it’s profound. But think about it. Every parent passes down a part of themselves, not just through DNA, but through values, stories, even habits. Your kids, and their kids after them, carry pieces of you. They’re living proof that you were here, that you made a mark. You might be gone, but a part of you lives on, moving forward through generations.
Though our bodies are bound by time, in the lives of our descendants, a part of us lives on forever.
Imagine this: if you create something meaningful and have children who carry your legacy, you’ll be touched forever. You’ll be gone, yes, but parts of you will continue—your ideas, your essence, and maybe even your dreams.
So, my friends, maybe that’s the best we can do to brush up against immortality. Leave something behind, nurture something that will grow beyond you, and in that way, keep a piece of yourself alive.
With all my dreams, thoughts, and a bit of magic, Jack
P.S. I’m already on my path to immortality. Here’s hoping you’ll join me in finding your own way to live on.
